Standard routing via Singapore or Port Klang, through the Suez Canal, to Piraeus. After customs clearance at Piraeus, furniture is trucked to the port of Rafina or Lavrio (50–80 km from Piraeus) and transferred by ferry to Mykonos. Mykonos has a small commercial port, large containers are split to smaller vehicles for final delivery. We coordinate this with our Greek logistics partner.
Customs & import notes
Indonesia is eligible for the EU Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP), which reduces import duties on most furniture categories. Wooden furniture (HS 9403.30–9403.60) attracts 2.7% under GSP vs 5.6% at standard MFN rates. SVLK timber certificate required for wood products. Greek customs clearance at Piraeus typically takes 3–7 working days. Import broker fees apply.

A-Grade Teak (outdoor)
A-grade teak ages exceptionally well in the Mediterranean climate. The Aegean sun weathers teak to a pale silver-grey that complements whitewashed Cycladic architecture naturally. For clients who prefer to maintain the warm tone, annual oiling is straightforward. Teak's natural silica resists the alkaline dust common in the Cyclades.
Volcanic Stone (Paras)
Paras stone's pale grey-beige tone reads almost Cycladic, it fits the local palette without visual conflict. Hand-carved stone basins and side tables are among the most requested pieces from Mykonos-bound clients. Stone is unaffected by meltemi winds or sea salt.
Solid Brass Hardware (lacquered)
Brushed or raw brass with clear lacquer coating is appropriate for Mykonos properties. Without lacquer, bare brass will patinate in salt air, which some clients prefer aesthetically. Specify the finish intent at briefing stage. Marine-grade alloy is recommended for pieces directly exposed to sea air.

How does island delivery to Mykonos work?
Container clearance happens at Piraeus port on the mainland. Once cleared, goods are trucked to Rafina or Lavrio ferry terminal (approximately 50 km). The ferry to Mykonos takes 4–5 hours. On Mykonos, our Greek logistics partner coordinates final delivery, the island's narrow roads mean 40ft containers cannot reach many properties. Goods are transferred to smaller trucks for last-mile delivery. We factor this into our delivery estimates.
Is the EU import duty process straightforward for Greek buyers?
For buyers or projects based in Greece (or any EU country), the import process is well-established. You will need a Greek customs broker (appointed by you or arranged by us) to handle clearance at Piraeus. Total customs cost, duty, VAT on the import value, brokerage fees, typically adds 15–25% to the CIF value. We provide a detailed cost estimate before the order is placed.

In Mykonos conditions, untreated A-grade teak typically weathers to its silver-grey tone within 12–18 months. This is widely considered the most elegant natural finish, visible on most Aman and Six Senses properties in the Mediterranean. If you prefer to maintain the warm golden tone, one application of teak oil annually is sufficient.
